I've taught Physical Education in Maryland's public school system for 38 years, and I've been blessed with the desire to continue to grow as an educator. Fairly recently I took an online class, Developing Kids Motor Skills and Coordination From 0-6 Years, and I found it very informative and well put together. I teach students as young as 3 years old, and I plan on using a lot of what I learned in the course during the upcoming school year. I also based a lot of my Raising a Successful Student-Athlete page on the class.
In regard to developing student-athletes the elementary and middle school Physical Educators can play a big role. One area that Physical Educators can address in a big way is addressed in my Care for the Knees in Sports That Involve Jumping, Pivoting, and Cutting blog. I regularly blend thes types of exercises and activities into my lessons.
Teachers and anyone for that matter, that want to create an inexpensive do it yourself website like this one to express themselves in various ways may contact me. It will help if you are pretty thorough in your description in your email, of what you have in mind.
