Math Facts Sports can bring the enthusiasm of fun competition to a wide variety of lessons, as well as provide motivation for students to want to practice and master math facts. The basic gist of the concept is that the playing surfaces and Arithmecubes may be used, both as learning aids, and for competitive fun. The goal being for the student to need the learning aids less and less over time, as automaticity and the understanding of math facts is established, thus contributing to a foundation for future success.
Students may do the activities alone, as well as with groups. When doing activities where two or more the cubes are moved about the playing surface, the elements of strategy and team work are introduced. In my Selz and Teachers Pay Teachers Stores, I give away digital downloads for some of the playing surfaces, as well as a download that allows you to make your own Arithmecubes. Other downloads only cost $1.00.
